Tips for Teens to Lose Weight
72Teens Weight Loss
Being overweight is not fun especially for teenagers. They are more likely to be teased, social isolated and even verbally abused for being overweight. All of this usually leads to depression, low self esteem, and negative self images.
According to Kerri Boutelle, PhD, LP, an adolescent and obesity expert at the University of Minnesota."Kids who are overweight have a quality of life similar to kids with chronic diseases like cancer."
Statistic shows that over 12.5 million children are overweight. As a parents, we need to help our children by finding a way to encourage them to lead a healthy lifestyle. In order to help them, we ourselves should start by eating healthy first, or even better--try to start eating healthy as a family. I know that not all parents are living a healthy lifestyle, but it's never too late to start something new that is good for us and our children. And if we feel unable to change to a healthier lifestyle, at least we should encourage our children, enroll them into sports, or send them to join support group, see a nutritionist or any health fitness professional that can help them.
There are two of the most obvious, but most effective, ways we can help our kids lose weight and live healthier at home-- By changing their eating habits and exercise.
Changing our eating habits:
This is not dieting but rather substituting some of our junk food like soda, chips or chocolate to healthier alternatives such as granola bars, fruits, vegetables and water. I'm not saying to completely stop eating junk food-- I know how impossible that feels. What we should try to do is take it slow; try to reduce our junk food intake. For instance, when you're hungry before lunch comes, instead heading straight for the chocolate or chips, go to grab an apple or any fruit that you might prefer first. It's refreshing and healthy. There are some who even like taking cucumbers and tomatoes as snacks. They like them and it's good for them, but you don't have to force yourself to eat something that you don't like, choose the healthier alternative you'll actually enjoy. And of course, don't forget your protein food such as meat or fish for lunch or/and dinner. These protein will give you a prolong and real energy unlike sugar that give you quick but temporary energy.
It's always hard in the beginning to change the habits that you've been doing for years, but just think of the slimmer, leaner and healthier body that you'll be getting by changing your eating habits. When you start to see the results in a few weeks, you'll be the happiest person in the world knowing that your efforts have paid off.
Getting more exercise:
This doesn't mean hard work. Any
movement that you make is considered exercise, whether you're jogging,
jumping, or walking. If you're a busy person, find simple ways to get
exercise that don't interfere with your schedule. For example, walk,
don't drive, to the corner store to pick up those eggs you need for
dinner. Or, if you've got more time on your hands, try find a sport or
hobby that you like. It could be anything from taking a daily walk
around your neighborhood, to yoga, to swimming, basketball, volleyball
and so many other things you may already be doing. The bottom line is to
just be active. If you're not an active person, it will be hard in the
beginning, but once you've started you'll enjoy it.
Beside this
two things, you may want to add multivitamins into your diet. Sometimes
you miss eating the food that contains the vitamins your body needs and
that's where vitamin supplements come in handy. There are many more you
can do to lose weight and live healthier, but by following just these
three steps, you could change your life. You'll feel more energetic and
like you could do so much more.

It all starts with educating kids when they are young the importance of eating right and exercising correctly.
I agree, you do write your articles with passion. I hope you get the time to post for me some time in the future.
It's really a problem of out time, so your article is very informative and I hope it'll help some teenagers to loose weight.
This blog is very usefull fo me.
I have a son who is dealing with weight loss issues and it is very hard. Your information was great because for kids it really isn't usually about training hard it's just about making small changes in how they look at diet and exercise. You don't have to start with a marathon, just get a friend to go for a walk with you. Make Better Choices.
It's critical for kids get used to exercising. If you don't get into healthy habits while you're young, it's very difficult to start exercising routinely as an adult.
I will appreciated if you please write an article about children weight "management". What foods should new parents give to their children in order to grow up without having weight problems?
Thank you in advance
I love your writing style and how you write articles, really perfect. Do you consider writing for other blogs as a guest?
